Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
Save the Children is the world's leading independent organisation for children. We work in 120 countries. We save children's lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfil their potential. We work together, with our partners, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. We have over two million supporters worldwide and raised 1.9 billion dollars last year to reach more children than ever before, through programmes in health, nutrition, education, protection and child rights, also in times of humanitarian crises.
Save the Children has been working in Malawi since 1983 and currently operates in almost all districts in Malawi. We seek to ensure that children in need are protected, healthy and nourished, educated and live in economically secure households, while helping communities mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS. We do this through programming and advocating both directly and with a range of partners and key stakeholders.
Role Purpose: responsible for supporting the delivery of the project, working with partner organizations to ensure strong accountability for political and financial nutrition commitments and contributing to the development of nutrition-related activities, policies and strategies. The Project Manager will also provide technical assistance on nutrition related issues across sectors in both development and humanitarian projects/programs. S/he will provide state-of-the-art technical inputs into the development of the content and implementation strategies for evidence-based, high impact nutrition interventions for Save the Children.
