The Global Health Network Asia (TGHN Asia) is established in collaboration with the University of Oxford as a Regional Centre to enable evidence to be generated by health workers across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and to empower them to respond to disease outbreaks. Setting up this Coordination Centre strengthens the partnership with the goal of widening the impact, visibility, and engagement; and delivering research capacity development, and driving progress in tackling priority public health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Fellow will directly report to the designated person of The Global Health Network, Asia team assigned by the Regional Lead, and will be required to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Attend regular biweekly meetings with the Regional Coordinator of The Global Health Network Asia to share regular updates and note down the action points to plan further;
  • Coordination with the junior researcher within other Asian countries including across other regions to exchange knowledge and enhance the visibility of The Global Health Network Asia;
  • Contribute to online content, including new resources, guidance articles, homepage news features, events, and research items of interest. Encourage research groups to upload and share their guidance articles, tools, and resources for clinical research under the supervision of a Senior Research Investigator;
  • Write study reports and articles for peer-reviewed journals and share knowledge with the collaborators of TGHN Asia, TGHN Africa, TGHN Latin America, and the Caribbean region
  • Collaborate with national partners and support the TGHN Asia team to organize capacity-strengthening workshops.
  • Disseminate the knowledge at conferences and seminars under the guidance of the Manager, Knowledge Management;
  • Participate in skill-building activities including literature review, grant writing, protocol writing, data analysis, and manuscript writing.
  • Develop research concept notes, survey questionnaire, training to field staff, and field monitoring
  • Coordinate with data management team to clean database, check the quality of data, develop data analysis plan, and prepare data analysis reports as assigned by Principal Investigator
  • Defense the research findings to the scientific community at the national and international level

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Young, bright individuals with a bio-medical academic background who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply.
  • MBBS / BDS from a reputed academic institution;
  • Aspired to develop a professional career path in public health in icddr,b

Experience

  • Some experience in health research with International research institutes in clinical or public health sectors will be preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with proven proficiency in English.
